Book Description:

There are two types of relationships: fake and real.

Chuck and Kate’s used to be real, oh-so-real. But after she broke his heart four months ago, leaving him, it became all just pretense for the sake of their entwined families.

With parents who are best friends and business partners, it’s not easy for Chuck and Kate to announce they’ve split up. But with the holidays looming over them, they can no longer keep pretending.

They head home for Christmas, determined to tell the truth—and end up accidentally engaged instead. The more they try to pull apart, the more the Universe seems to push them back together, shortening the road to the altar. And when just-for-show kisses stir up forgotten feelings, things get even more complicated.

Now, with the midnight hour approaching, will Chuck and Kate’s relationship turn out to be fake or real?

Review

Chuck and Kate knew each other since childhood and were an item for as long as they could remember. However, a couple of months before, Kate had ended their relationship believing their paths were heading in opposite directions.

As their families were very close, tied both by friendship and business, they were reluctant to let them know about the breakup.

A hilarious series of misunderstandings turn their little lie into an out-of-control monster (lol).

Chuck was such a sweetheart. Even though he was blindsided by the end of the relationship, he remained a good friend and always respected Kate’s wishes.

Kate was a tad insensitive, but I guess she had good reasons for the breakup and truly believed it was the best for them.

It reminded me a bit of that movie with Sandra Bulock It Was While You Were Sleeping. Not so much the relationship itself, but the relationship with the family and how hard it became to come clear.

I love Camilla Isley’s books, and Fool me Twice is a lovely and entertaining read.

Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
